HAARP Hoax and Hatay Earthquake

There were two earthquakes caused by Eastern Anatolian Fault on 08.02.2023. This was followed by two earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.4 and 5.8 on 20.02.2023. Countless lives were lost because of the incompetency to follow science. Incompetency continues with the veil of conspiracy theories.

I have always been fascinated by the self-deceiving of humans. We try to forget what happened and move on to life. Although this is an important skill in order to preserve mental health, this leads to countless conspiracy theories. HAARP is one of them.

HAARP is a theoretical machine that can create earthquakes. The first mention of an “earthquake machine” is from the Nicola Tesla biography by Marc J. Seifer [1]. On page 159 of the reference, Nicola Tesla states that he created an “Oscillator” that was in a barrel of oil. By tuning an AC current, he provided the flow of oil with different ratios. In the second step, Tesla added a steam engine with a dynamo. This machine was connected to a turbine that created electricity.

Tesla experimented with this equipment. He saw that when the frequency of the equipment was increased it can break an iron rod. This is the same phenomenon when lots of people try to pass a suspension bridge. Tesla’s “Earthquake Machine” is not an Earthquake machine but a mere oscillator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy which is capable of breaking an iron rod.

Earthquakes on the Hatay released energy equal to 500 atomic bombs [2]. Firstly, I state that the human-made most explosive bomb is Tsar Bomba, and its bhang meter results were 243 Petajoules [3]. An atomic bomb’s energy equals approximately 42 PJ [4]. There is no official announcement for earthquake energy nor a study, but we can roughly estimate. In order to roughly estimate we can compare it with the 2011 Japan Earthquake. 2011 Japan Earthquake was of 9.0–9.1 magnitude and released 400 petajoules of energy [5]. This means you need 400 PJ of energy to create this earthquake again. From this, we achieve 342 PJ energy for Hatay Earthquake (Please keep in mind that fault dynamics are different, and the calculation is a rough estimation). There were two earthquakes, and in order to release this energy with Tsar Bomba, you need 2 bombas.

Faults are where Earthquakes happen. Faults form at the depth of 20 kilometers. Some say HAARP can be activated by drilling and injecting the liquid. This is called fracking in chemistry. Oil is pumped out by injecting liquids into oil reservoirs. Although this can be used to soften the fault and create little earthquakes, no oil drill reached 20 kilometers below.

Most important question is “Why?”. Why should anybody create an earthquake and kill hundreds of people. We should not stray from the ways of science. This should be embedded on our culture.
